How do I make candles that disperse essential oils well?

Uncategorized

You need:

  • A burner (to melt the wax), such as a stove top or hot plate
  • Double boiler setup
  • Candle thermometer
  • Wooden spoon for stirring
  • Containers to pour your candles into (tins, jars, seashells, cups)
  • Molds and mold release
  • Wicks
  • Wick holder or simply a wooden coffee stir stick
  • Scissors (you’ll use them to cut the wick)
  • Soy wax flakes
  • Essential oils (100 drops of essential oil per every pound of wax. Use 100% pure essential oils, from a trusted seller.)

Prepare all your equipment, making sure you have everything nearby. Prepare the containers in which you’ll pour the wax. Place a wick in each of them, making sure they are upright, using a wooden stick or a wick-holder. This step is important since the candles will not burn if the wicks are not straight. I’ll suggest you check .

Melt the wax flakes, choosing the quantity you’ll need for your recipients. Keep the temperature on low heat, stirring frequently. The wax should not get over 180 degrees Fahrenheit! After melting the wax, let it cool for a couple of minutes prior to adding the essential oils. Stir well to make sure the therapeutic oils blend well with the wax. Fill the jars, tins or other recipients and let the candles cool down for at least an hour if you’ll be using molds.
