The 2009 Cleveland Indians – A Major Disappointment

Uncategorized

The Cleveland Indians were perhaps of the most terrible group in baseball in 2009 with a record of 65-97.The Indians were weirdos the entire season and never were in dispute for an AL Central division title. In 2007, the Indians were one game away from the World Series losing to the possible bosses Boston Red Sox. It’s difficult to dominate many matches when a group loses two top pitchers in CC Sabathia and Cliff Lee in two seasons.

Nothing appeared to go ok for the Indians the entire  year. Just a single player had 20 grand slams – Shin-Soo Choo. No players had all the more then a 100 RBI – the only one close was Choo with 86. Asdrubal Cabrera was eleventh in the AL in batting normal at .308 and eleventh in pairs with 42. By and large, Choo was the Indians most useful hitter the whole season.

Just a single Indians starter had all the more then 10 successes on the season – David Huff got done with a 11-8 record yet an ERA well over 5.00. Bluff Lee first half season with the Indians wasn’t fantastic – a 7-9 record with a 3.14. Precipice Lee won the Cy Young Award in 2008 so his terrible beginning was something of a secret. In 2008, Lee went 22-3 with an ERA of 2.54 and had his greatest year of his vocation.

The Cleveland Indians really do have some youthful ability they trust will be the clubs future – Grady Seizmore.

Only two seasons eliminated from being one win from the World Series feels exceptionally far away for Cleveland fans unquestionably. At this point the Detroit Tiger, Chicago White Sox, Minnesota Twin are better groups then the Indians – the main group that probably won’t be better is the Kansas City Royals – that isn’t saying a lot.
